Not all vision problems can be corrected by just glasses or contact lenses. Vision therapy is a personalized and doctor-supervised treatment program designed to improve visual function and performance by improving the brain’s ability to control eye alignment, eye tracking, eye teaming, eye focusing abilities, eye movements, and visual processing. The exercises and activities performed in vision therapy are designed to re-train the visual system to interpret visual input with increased accuracy and ease. Vision therapy can improve and sometimes eliminate conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed-eyes), convergence insufficiency, and convergence excess.
