Dr. Johan Tran, Ph.D., O.D.

Surf City Optometry is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Johan Tran. 

Dr. Tran possesses two advanced degrees: a Ph.D. from the University of California of Riverside, as well as an O.D. from the New England College of Optometry.  He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry (Board Certified). Dr. Tran speaks fluent French, and communicates well in Spanish. 

Besides his extensive clinical experience in eye care (15+ years in practice), he was also involved in research and teaching for 10+ years at many research institutes (West Virginia University, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Schepens Eye Research Institute) in the field of Biochemistry.  

Dr. Johan Tran's combined broad scientific knowledge, extensive clinical experience and strong communication skills allow him to understand in detail the biology of the eye, keep him current with new advances in technology, and help him treat your eye condition effectively.
