Dr. Bronson W. Hamada

Bronson W. Hamada is a native Southern Californian. He grew up in Anaheim, attended California State University, Fullerton, and later graduated from Indiana University's College of Optometry. 


During his college athletic career, he was the Southern California Intercollegiate Fencing Champion, First Team All-Conference, 'Most Outstanding Fencer' NCAA Western Region, and NCAA All-American (ranked fifth in the nation).


Dr. Hamada is an 'Expert Examiner' for the California Board of Optometry and the 'Supervising Examiner' for the National Board of Examiners clinical skills exam. He is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and glaucoma, and serves as a clinical investigator and consultant in the contact lens industry. In addition, Dr. Hamada also serves as the clinical preceptor for Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Salus University.


Dr. Hamada has a passion for helping athletes reach their full human athletic potential. He developed the Sports Vision Center of Excellence at Surf City Optometry, and also serves as the eye doctor for several U.S. National, Professional, and Olympic Teams. Throughout his career, Dr. Hamada has had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest icons in sports, but has always thoroughly enjoyed helping athletes of any age or ability. In his free time, Dr. Hamada enjoys playing basketball, traveling (especially to Hawaii, where his parents are from), gardening, and spending time with his wife Jocelyn and children Sophie, Brian, & Lili.
